SCS Software has some new screenshots available of Euro Truck Simulator 2 for today. This time it's about a toll road, where the local roads will turn into a highway.

SCS Software is trying to create a great part of Europe. The biggest part of the roads will be the highways, but there will be local roads too.

Today another update on their blog! This time we've got WIP-screenshots from the Mercedes cabin. Small details still need to be added. It takes an experienced 3D-designer about a month, to realize this actual result!

Schmitz CargoBull will appear in Euro Truck Simulator 2 as well! SCS made this announcement earlier today on their blog. It's not sure yet, that they have the permission to use the real name, Schmitz, in game. However, SCS is trying to negotiate with the companies. If they can't fix anything, they will use fake, fantasy names, like they do with trucks.

One of the advantages of the new display-engine in Euro Truck Simulator 2, is the possibility to use High Dynamic Range (HDR). This has a better handling with light effects in the surroundings. 

At this right moment, SCS Software is checking this new technical function, to get the best and right artistic effects. The first results are promising. In the screenshot below, you can see a comparison with the new HDR (top) and the older techniques (bottom), used in games such as German Truck Simulator and UK Truck Simulator

A small example of veraciously building several (known) parts of countries, that's what SCS Software wants to show us today. To realize 3D-models as realistic as possible, they use pictures which makes it easier to build everything.

This time the screens are located in The Netherlands, namely the Stevin Locks near Den Oever, which means SCS Software is planning to put the Afsluitdijk in Euro Truck Simulator 2! That means as well, that North Holland and Friesland will appear in ETS2!
