After a few days of testing with a private group of beta testers, a beta version was released yesterday for Euro Truck Simulator 2. This beta version can be obtained via Steam, however it's not for free. To gain access to this beta, you need to have a full licensed version of this game. To test your Linux version you need to follow these steps:
- Install the game in Steam client. You're downloading the normal version, without Linux executables;
- When you've opened Steam client, open the properties of ETS2 and go to the 'Betas';-tab
- Select 'linux_testing' beta;
- The Linux executables will now be installed.
Feedback about this beta can be given in the SCS Software forum and search for Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Linux Beta Testing.
ETS2 will play fluently on Nvidia drivers, but on ATI/AMD drivers there are possibilities for lag and other problems. Older versions of MESA has some problems as well, but are fixed in the new version. However, graphic artefact is still an issue.
It still needs some fine tuning and some game-functions are missing.
